The short escape from the capital — chameleons, a night walk, and the indri calling through the mist at dawn.
We start our journey together with a relaxed morning drive from Antananarivo toward Andasibe, easing into the trip with a short stop at Peyrieras Reserve (Mandraka). This is a fun first taste of Madagascar's wildlife, where we may see chameleons, geckos and other small endemic species.
We then continue the road toward Andasibe, stopping for lunch in Moramanga or Andasibe, depending on timing.
In the afternoon we visit the Vakona Reserve and enjoy a peaceful walk among the lemurs and forest surroundings. As the day comes to an end we head out for a guided night walk, when the rainforest reveals its nocturnal life — mouse lemurs, frogs, and glowing eyes in the darkness.
Overnight: mid-range hotel in Andasibe (bed & breakfast)Early in the morning we explore Analamazaotra National Park, guided through the lush rainforest in search of the famous indri indri and other lemur species. We also observe birds, unique vegetation, and enjoy the unforgettable sounds of the forest.
After the visit we have lunch in the village before driving back to Antananarivo in the afternoon, marking the end of this short but meaningful rainforest experience.
